Chrismas Stitchery,

Monday night was an exciting night with the patchwork group of ladies. I was working on my Christmas stitchery, Making Spirits Bright by The Bird House Patchwork Designs, knitting needles were in constant motion, and Josie was knitting a blanket for Knit a Blanket.

One of the bags,I just love the fabric.
Some were making bags, others were piecing blocks, Sue was working on her stitchery that she started last week and was ready to learn a new stitch this time she chose chain stitch, the constant chatter and bursts of laughter made the night fly by ever so quickly and before we realised it was time to pack up and leave for another week.

A bit of trivia
Mageirichobia is the intense fear of having to cook.

Evian water, 375ml, $2.95 .....$7.86 per litre - and we think petrol is expensive !!!!!!

Also thank you Pauline for mentioning my blog on your blog "Little House on the Hill"

I have never used this colour range before so I am looking forward to seeing the quilt finished. I have added some photos of the completed blocks.Only1 Block to go....

More fabric for Mrs Billings

Mrs Billings Coverlet

Yesterday morning I went to Somerset patchwork shop to show Karen and Sue my progress with Mrs. Billings. They both agreed I was progressing nicely and the colours worked well.
Sue took a photo with her camera phone and will try and pass it on to Karen. I then started to chat to Sue and asked her opinion as to how many colours to use in the quilt; her response was exactly what I wanted to hear.” Work with what you have OR as many as you like” . Yes I thought more fabric to buy, and although I said that I wouldn't I ended up with another 5 pieces of gorgeous fabric to add to my stash of Mrs. Billings fabric. Now the only problem I have is that I wasn't going to do any more on Mrs. Billings for awhile so I could catch up with raining cats and dogs. Hmmmmm to be cont.

Mrs Billings Borders 6,7,8 added

Mrs Billings Coverlet

Hi I would like to welcome Judith our newest member, and all members.

Well I have finished making and attaching borders 6, 7, & 8 to MrsBillings. It took a lot longer than I anticipated making border 7 (1"squares on point, 80 squares in total). The top hasn't been ironed yet, I will wait a bit longer in case it stretches out of shape. I will leave Mrs Billings for a little while as I would like to catch up on some of my other projects.

Catching up with friends

I went to my weekly Monday night meeting last night. Although it rained most of the day and was very cold the ladies who braved the elements to attend we're all in high spirits. The knitting needles were in continuous motion, & sewing needles were being threaded for various projects from stitcheries to hand piecing lovely blocks. I took Mrs. Billings and managed to sew two borders on, yay!!!!! Shelley was teaching a couple of ladies a few basic stitches to start them off on their stitcheries. We had a couple of new ladies join our group always nice to welcome newcomers.
Tuesday I went to my Shearwaters group it is held at Woolamai surf life saving club. The views are always fantastic the surf always impresses.

Mrs Billings Update

Mrs Billings Coverlet

At last I finally picked up Mrs Billings last  week and managed to put together  two diamond borders and a couple of corner blocks. I am hoping to complete the other two borders this week. I think when I attach these diamond borders I will be able to have a much better idea on how my colour scheme is progressing. I hope.....

I have also been watching the Olympics and enjoying all the events that I have watched.

Treats and Sweets Basket

Pattern by hugs'n Kisses

I enjoyed making this cute basket.
The pattern was really easy to follow and very quick to make once the stitchery was done. I used fa la la la la French general fabric and a coat hanger for the handles. Instead of prairie points I used white ric rac.
