One Flower Wednesday

One Flower Wednesday
I was very pleased with my flowers this week as I am using some of my left over fabric from Raining Cats and Dogs Quilt by Bunny Hill, fabric range Moda's Puttin on the Ritz. That is the white and grey swirl flower and the very pale sage green. The third flower with the light tan flowers is from my Cottage Garden Quilt using evening mist fabric from Moda. I am having so much fun choosing fabrics for these flowers and participating in One Flower Wednesday. Thank you to everyone who is joining in the fun and making it such a wonderful day.

One Flower Wednesday

One Flower Wednesday
My how quickly the weeks come and go, this is my fourth Wednesday posting on One Flower Wednesday. I managed to make two flowers this week to add to my garden. The weather has been so hot here thankfully we have a cool change today, but it has left me tired and feeling washed out. Hoping tomorrow is a bit cooler also. I feel for everyone in the bushfire areas and pray that they stay safe.
For now Happy stitching and stay safe........

A big thank you to Karen for running the program. I can't wait to see the flowers for this week.

Make a list journal cover, FNSI

I managed to finish the design on my Journal cover last night unfortunately I couldn't finish putting the binding on. I did have my grandsons for a sleepover which was very exciting. Unfortunately they had to leave early this morning as they go to Little Athes on a Saturday morning. But then I managed to put the binding on. I am giving it to my friend as a birthday present in a couple of weeks so I am very pleased with the end result. That's another one to cross off my finished projects list.
Thank you to Heidi for organising the FNSI, I look forward to the end of the week knowing I am joining other people with the same interests.

                              Happy stitching.........

Also last but by no means least, my friend Shelley made this needle case for me, it matches my selvedge bag beautifully. It was Shelley's work that inspired me to make my bag. Isn't it just gorgeous.

Friday Night Sew In

Scandinavian Rose Quilt
Friday night I sat down to start stitching with all the lovely people for Friday Night Sew In hosted by Heidi.
I managed to finish Pattern Three block 4 of Scandinavian Rose. It was quite a large stitchery block with Back stitch, Chain stitch, Satin stitch, on cream linen. I love the look of the linen but still have trouble with it sometimes. Now all I have to do is decide which project I will work on next.
Happy stitching........

Selvedge Edge Fabric Bag

I made this bag on the week end using the free Aerika Pattern, available from Crystelle Boutique...
( you can use any bag pattern you have.)

Selvedge Fabric Bag

I went through all my fabrics and cut off the selvedge intending to make a small purse but was
amazed that I had enough to make the bag.

I am thrilled with the result and can’t wait to make more projects using selvedge.

I worked on my Scandinavian Rose block again last night. I was hoping to have progressed more during the week on this block but I got carried away with other projects. Today was busy as we had our big quilt in today and I ended up doing more socialising than sewing. It was a great day lots of gorgeous desserts and delicious chicken, pies, salads etc. good friends and lots of laughter.

Scrappy Pyramid Quilt Update

We had an impromptu meeting on Wednesday with my monthly group at Shelley's which meant another scrappy pyramid . We were all enthusiastic to see each other again after the long Xmas break.
Not all of the group was able to come to this meeting but of those that were they soon had needles sewing various projects and of course the laughter soon followed .
       Happy Sewing..........

Scrappy Pyramid

Jack is now recovering nicely with his mate Seven not far behind . Seven has been by his side since Jack returned from the Vets. We have had to lock Jack in the garage and only let him out under supervision in case he catches  his stitches in the garden and Seven has stayed in the garage with him keeping him company.
