One Flower Wednesday

Well it Wednesday again time for OFW .I am posting early today as first thing in the morning I am catching a train into the AQC Show. I managed to make two flowers this week since I missed last week. It has been a very busy couple of weeks, my husband Jim came down with shingles on the face near the eye two weeks ago, so between the doctors, the hospital then was being referred to the eye and ear hospital, blood test etc. I am very pleased to have managed these two flowers. Friday its back to the eye and ear Hospital, the only consolation is that when I haven’t been driving him to these appointments we stay home, as he is in a fair bit of pain, so I have been sitting quietly working on Mrs Billings trying to finish her.
Thank you Karen, for hosting One Flower Wednesday for us. There are lots of great flowers each week from those of us who make hexagon flowers. Click on the link to go see some lovely flowers One Flower Wednesday.
If you see me tomorrow please say Hi.

Stitching Day

I had a lovely day on Saturday stitching with friends. We joined  "Stitched in Time" with Gail Pan and Jennifer Knol. We all enjoyed the day stitching new projects, chatting, laughing, and catching up with new and old techniques and lovely food.
We each received
4 new release patterns. Starter kits for the patterns. A gift bag with lovely treats inside. There were lots of lovely surprises through the day. Foothills Fabric and Threads joined us with lovely fabric and goodies from the shop. There were lots of beautiful quilts on display both from Gail and Jennifer. The launch of Gail's new book Simply Christmas which I was lucky enough to win an autographed copy.
Gail also had a gorgeous new bag pattern Bloom.

Friday Night with Friends

My first Friday Night with Friends I spent finishing my pyramid border for Mrs Billings Coverlet. Now all I have to do is attach it to my floral border and that will complete Border 10.
Thank you all for a lovely night of stitching.....

Mrs billings Coverlet

Thursday morning group at Somerset Patchwork shop. I had decided to change the double diamonds border by using a plain fabric instead of making the diamonds. While explaining my changes to Meredith she spotted this lovely floral fabric which blended in with my fabrics. I was lucky as it was the end of the bolt, and that there was enough for my borders plus it was discounted. I was very pleased with the result. I now have to make the mirror pyramid border, and then decide how much further I will go with this quilt.

                                               Happy stitching..........
