Christmas Through The Year

It's not to late to join in the fun Here

'Christmas Through The Year' Link Up...

Christmas is getting closer... gifts are being bought... and gifts are being made...
If you are making gifts for loved ones, why not link up here with
You can link up any gift at all... it doesn't necessarily have to be a Christmas-themed item... just as long as it's something you have made & will be putting under the tree for someone you love... or perhaps a co-worker, teacher or blogging buddy...

It's so easy to join in... just do a post on your own blog, showing off your beautifully made gift, then come back here & follow the directions on the linky tool... simple!
There's a great little prize on offer... & I'd love to see what's being made...
Links can be made until end of 28 November, West Australia time

(Looking ahead to December, there will be a link-up available for those of you who might want to link up a last gift or two for the year... it will be a week earlier than usual, from 18-21 December.)

One Flower Wednesday

A few more flowers added to background fabric. Thanks Karen for hosting ! If you would like to see the other lovely flowers go here to watch them bloom.

Also when we got back I took some photos of the lovely flower block that Danette sent me and all the goodies. Unfortunately the photo my son took with his phone camera wasn't very good. Thank you Danette for making my first mini swap such an exciting and memorable one.

Happy stitching ........

Dear Jane Shades of Red

I am still catching up. I was putting Dear Jane away after having her on show for the ladies that came over for Marie's Day last week and couldn't resist taking another photo of her to share. I only bring her out for special occasions as I would love to pass her down to one of my grandchildren. I replaced her with my cherry chocolate quilt.

12 " mini swap

My son just phoned to say there is a parcel for me so I asked if he could open it up and take some photos and send them to me via his mobile phone. We are away till mid week. His phone is not the best but a huge thank you to Danette of Quilting Chemist for the beautiful block she made for me and all the lovely goodies. I will look forward to snacking on the Frango's and hanging the lovely flower block on a wall.

Thanks Cheryll for hosting the swap and allowing me to join in. I have enjoyed myself and will definitely join in again.
                       Happy stitching............

Mrs Billings Coverlet

Mrs Billings came back from the quilters in just enough time for me to sew the binding on to put her in our show cup weekend. Gayle did a lovely job in quilting  her. This is the first chance I've had to take a photo and post her . Whew things have been busy lol ......

Pierogi (Polish cooking)

I spent the afternoon preparing and cooking Pierogi  , it is a polish dish which I called little pillows. Inside they are filled with cottage cheese and potatoes, or a mince filling. There are other fillings but these are the ones mum made.

My son has an infected hand from a rusty down-pipe he was  fixing for us when it was pouring with rain. So I thought I would make his favourite food from his grandmothers cooking days. I also sent a message to my grandson to let him know as he also enjoys them. The answer came back that he would stop by after work to have dinner with us. My eldest son is not keen on them which suits me as far as the work involved in making them :-)

By the time I finished I said to my husband, mum must have been NUTS to stand in the kitchen all day cooking these (she would have made more than double my quantity )

I forgot to take a picture of the potato and cottage cheese filling.

The dark ones are the mince filled and the rest are potato and cottage cheese filled.

Hosting Marie's Day.

Every month someone hosts Marie's Day at their home. Tuesday was my turn to host.
It was a dreary day outside but inside there was lots of laughter, sharing jokes, cooking, and sewing projects.

A photo of Margaret the lovely lady that won the presidents choice and viewers choice at our Melbourne cup quilt display at Phillip Island with her stunning Poppies quilt.

Andrea and myself stitching and enjoying ourselves.

Great to see my boozy fruitcake was a hit. A few ladies stayed behind to enjoy a glass of champagne with a sugar cube and splash of brandy to top the day off.

A relaxed day with great friends......

Happy stitching............
