Catchup after Surgery

Good morning to all my beautiful blogging friends. All went well on Wednesday with my surgery. What was supposed to take 3 hours ended up taking  two surgeons 5 1/2 hours. Needless to say it was a massive clean up after all the partying down there.. Hehe.. I still have a long way to go but just wanted to let everyone one know that it was all the good wishes prays and hugs from all my fiends in blog land Facebook and Phillip island Patchworkers not to mention my husband and family that has helped me through this surgery and the recovery that is following.  I can't lift anything more than my iPhone at the moment so I won't be able to answer anyone for quite awhile. THANK YOU THANK YOU  it warms my heart knowing I have all of you out there and makes this recovery so much more bearable. Also seeing the strength in Melody, Joss, Carol (non blogger) shez  and others that I know who put on their smiling faces  helps me through this. sending you all big hugs and kisses xox
Ps sorry about spelling etc drugs  play havoc

Update

After sitting here since yesterday on a liquid diet and today a drip and nil by mouth just before my turn to go into surgery my surgeon got sick and had to cancel my op. So here I am leaving the hospital in pj's ( a fashion statement I thought ...hehe..) My sister in law came to get me because the roads were blocked (a policeman was run over ) and Jim couldn't come with my clothes. Do you think I could start a new trend hehe....Sorry but I have to laugh or I might cry ......happy days :)

At this stage I'm not sure of the new date for my surgery, stay tuned :(

Thank you for all your lovely messages, I will slowly reply to all of them xx

Grandmother's Flower Garden

Grandmother's Flower Garden by Jaynette Huff

April 2013 I began making my flower garden using 1/2 " paper hexagons. The original pattern used 1/4 " hexagons and finished at 19 3/4" x 21 3/4" I doubled all the measurements as I wanted mine to be larger than the original.

This is my finished result, after Lilly Pilly I found it a lot easier to machine quilt, I did change the quilting design for this quilt I think it suits the flower arrangement much better.

Lilly Pilly

Ok so this is Lilly Pilly finished. I decided to try my hand at raw edge applique and free motion quilting. I have never been happy with my free motion quilting and usually only use the stipple stitch which I can manage. So I decided rather than play with small test pieces I would bite the bullet and work on the actual project. Well..... I had so much fun with this one and in the end was very pleased with myself. I could actually relax and enjoy free motion quilting using something other than stipple stitch.

Cutting Cloth 282 Wingrove St, Fairfield Vic.
Love this pattern. I have finally prepared it, now to decide on the finishing stitches and possibly some embellishing with felt. After enjoying a wonderful catch up with Dawn of  sew much to quilt I am eager to try free motion quilting but hmmmm ...not sure if I might be better off with blanket stitch.

Surprise Visitor

Two weeks ago I was back in hospital for 5 days with some side effects of diverticulitis ( my new me ...lol..) When I looked up I saw Melody ( The House On The Side Of The Hill ) with a big smile on her face. Wow ..... I was so happy to see her and catch up with all the news. She came to sit with me to help pass the time more quickly while I was waiting for the results of my enteroclysis scan which she read about on my FB page. Of Course Mel being Mel she also came bearing a beautiful gift. As she explained this would be perfect to take with me for my visits to the doctors or to start sewing while I was in hospital as everything I needed was in the lovely tin.
So very considerate and thoughtful Mel thank you again for a wonderful afternoon of catching up xx

Love my adorable owl stitchery by the talented Rosalie Quinlan.

THANK YOU MEL x

P.S.
I'm still very tired with a mixture of good days and bad days. I will be going back  to hospital this Wednesday ( 3 days only ) for an exploratory colonoscopy to check out a section which could be the culprit that doesn't realise the party is over...lol.
I am reading all the beautiful and inspiring blogs but not always leaving comments, I will hopefully start catching up with that soon.xx

Update

As I walked up the stairs this Morning I thought I was going to finally find my old body upstairs waiting for me after over 40 days of this one I was eager for my old self. But alas no :(   not yet. Boy I must have done something ..... to piss...my body off, I have tried to make up for it, spoiling it with soups, delicious fruit smoothies and lots of rest. Still I am starting to see a smile peeking through every now and then so hopefully it's just playing hard to get and I am finally making a bit of head way......hehe........
Also a big thank you to all my lovely blogging friends especially Shez, Tracee, Maria, Wendy, for your understanding and gentle reminders of my silly (foggy head) mistakes (names, dates, blogs. Oops perhaps it's just me...lol..but anyway love you all and thanks.xx
