Grandmother's Flower Garden

Grandmother's Flower Garden by Jaynette Huff

April 2013 I began making my flower garden using 1/2 " paper hexagons. The original pattern used 1/4 " hexagons and finished at 19 3/4" x 21 3/4" I doubled all the measurements as I wanted mine to be larger than the original.

This is my finished result, after Lilly Pilly I found it a lot easier to machine quilt, I did change the quilting design for this quilt I think it suits the flower arrangement much better.

Happy stitching.........

  1. TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!! I think it was wise to use the 1/2 inch as the 1/4 inch are very fiddly. I bought some 1/4 inch templates years ago but haven't been brave enough to try them. I believe tweezers and a magnifying glass may be useful lol. You have done a wonderful job and it looks absolutely stunning.

  11. It is gorgeous Helen. I love miniature but I would imagine 1/4 to be too tiny for my sausage fingers! 1/2 is still a challenge which you pulled off.
