New Projects on the Horizon

I had a wonderful afternoon at Sewn and Quilted stitching and chatting with a lovely group of ladies. While there I picked up a couple of books and some linen eager to try a few of the projects. Also very excited and looking forward to summer school in January working on the new Sue Spargo pre-cut wool kit. Finally mojo and excitement here again.....I am back in my happy place.πŸ€—

Chuck Norah

Another project to add to my ever growing no of projects. I have decided to make 5” blocks from Chuck Norah’s 2001 Blocks book with no particular end result, just enjoying the change of pace.

Eddie Our Beloved Pet r.i.p.

When we got back yesterday from our New Zealand cruise Steve (son)  broke the news that Eddie had died on Saturday while we away. Still can’t stop crying miss him so much.
That photo was taken by my son (Steve) on Monday while we were away. Steve said he was sitting there waiting for us to come home.

Thank you in advance as I won’t be able to reply.πŸ’”

Something New-Hand Embroidery

Today I am beginning a new adventure, hand embroidery. I signed up for lessons at Craftpaks Embroidery shop in Heathmont. I have my requirements list of items in my favourite bag (remember when we made these Shelley) ready to go.

Also an update on Eddie, he had a bad fall yesterday down the last couple of stairs (inside staircase) . Jim and I were out shopping  when Steve (son) rang to tell us what had happened. Thankfully we followed the vets advice kept him warm and cosy on the couch. He is now much better and we are all relieved the drama is over as we  (hubby and I) are leaving on Thursday for our NZ cruise.

North of the Yarra 2018 Quilters exhibition

Waking up very early this morning I began making Golabki (Stuffed Cabbage Rolls)  special request from GD Jessica for dinner tonight.

When I had them made and safely in the fridge I then decided I still had enough time to go to the North of the Yarra 2018 Quilters exhibition. So many beautiful quilts on show and so hard to pick a favourite. While I was there I caught up with Karen from Mrs Martins Quilt shop, chattered to Di Ford while looking at her beautiful range of fabrics and gorgeous quilts, then Lovely Melody and Christine. On my way out Julia spotted me so more chatting. It’s amazing how many friends you catch up with  at quilt shows.....hehe....Below just some of the quilts.

More photos in next post...

Thanks Cheryll for organising another fun FNwF and I look forward to catching up with everyone else and what they did.

I began working on Charlotte in the afternoon and continued into the evening between naps. Since I began taking Thyroid medication (which still needs tweaking ) I seem to be sleeping most of the time . I did manage to finish stitching a starburst on my Charlotte Project.

Stitching with Friends.

Thursday was catch-up with Friends, we stitched, chattered, shared stories and tips. Margaret was still recovering from her stint in hospital but hoping to join us next week. We got caught up discussing projects using paper piecing which lead to.....Yes you guessed it ...possibly another project in the wings. I am thinking it would be a great project for the car when travelling. The biggest decision would be which one to pick Dear Prudence or Elenor Jean. ????

 Stay tuned 😁😁

I did remember to take some photos.

Sue’s progress.

Anna working on her Sampler quilt blocks.

I was working on my mandala block.

Eddie and Seven still eager for their walks....
