Winter Village

Catching up on my blog again...whew....
I managed some quality stitching time on the sewing machine on a few days last week. Sunday was a bad day I spent most of it in bed then slow but  steady recovery today. Tonight back at the machine and another block finished.

Zippered Utility Bag

Back home after our lovely getaway to Halls Gap, I have already managed to sew my first utility bag. I bought the pattern at Stawell Craft when I caught up with Cheryl from Cheryl’s Stitching. Love the bag and pattern.

It was wonderful catching up with Chery.🤗

Halls Gap Getaway

First stop Gail’s Emporium.

Dogs enjoying the sun while we unpack.

Relaxing with a bit of stitching

A visit to my favorite craft shop in Stawell and catching up with Cheryl ( Cheryl’s Stitching) a few bits found their way into my basket.🤗

Eddie (our jack russell) has a heart murmur and we have been told he has reached the maximum dosage in his medication and will start to deteriorate. One of the symptoms would be a need to cling and stay close, now he just follows me all day. He didn’t want to stay outside when I came in for a drink.

Waiting while I’m in the shower.

Where would we be without our furry friends and their unconditional love. 😘

Winter Village

Winter Village update. I have been slowly working on this project and loving the progress, especially happy with the  fabrics and colours. We will be going away for a couple of days next week with the dogs as our family room floor needs to be repolished,  so I was keen to sew a few extra blocks before leaving.

Table Runner

I found these UFO blocks while trying to tidy up my sewing space. So I decided to make a table runner with them while on my destashing bug.

Dutch Treat

The other day I went to my sewing room to start to declutter and finish some UFOs.
I decided to make a small runner with the few blocks I had made out of the Dutch Treat book which I started a long time ago but never went any further with them. So I started joining the 4 1/2" blocks together with a quarter inch sashing strip between the blocks. 3 across by 6 down making a total of 18 blocks. BUT when I saw them joined up in the strips I fell in love with them again and have now decided to make another 18 and see how I feel about them, keep going or stop.

Sit and Stitch and New Project 2018

Winter Village by Laundry Basket Quilts.

We had our first sit and stitch for 2018 on Thursday. Dawn, Anna ,Sue and myself  were so excited as we are starting a new project. We spent the day sorting our fabric packs and marking which fabric was for which house, roof, window etc. That took us most of the day then we sat back enjoyed fresh fruit platter and chattered about the project and various other subjects.
The story so far..

Sue popped by with a lovely surprise for me Natalie Bird's book  "Cottage -Style Charm".
Thank you so much Sue I love the book.
